Decor: Bali Bistrot

My favorite beach resort in Asia by far is Bali.  It might not have the crystalline waters of Phuket and the other Thai islands, nor is it as untouched as the Malaysian options but it is the most interesting beach resort by far.  One of the things I love most about Bali is the amazing restaurant options available.  New places are constantly opening and not only is the food great but the decor is really sophisticated and interesting.  Bali Bistrot is the new kid on the block, and dont tell me that it can’t hold its own when compared to London or NYC joints.   There is nothing like this in Hong Kong for sure.

Australia: The Grounds of Alexandria

My list of things to do and see while in Sydney is slowly starting to fill up.  Of all the things I have come across The Grounds of Alexandria is by far on the top of my list.  This is my kind of place.   I would make this my local brunch place if I lived in Sydney.  I have been on a no diary no wheat detox for the last couple of months.  Let me tell you I will be breaking that detox next week when I get to The Grounds.  I am thinking a cafe late, a croissant and a newspaper.  Bliss.

Australian Decor: Nicola and Orlando Reindorf’s Home

I love the wooden floors and white walls with the sporadic touches of colour of this flat.  Owners Nicola and Orlando Reindorf are apparently the owners of a shop called The Standard Store in Sydney, which I will definitely be visiting as these two clearly have impecable taste. I got the below pictures from a design blog called The Design Files which has some amazing interiors.  A great place to go for inspiration.

Decor: Kay O’Toole’s Pad

I have always found that antique artefacts and pre-modern art can make a place look dark and dusty.  Not if you do it like Kay O’Toole. Her place looks fresh and bright with enough touches of the old to make it interesting as opposed to stuffy.
